EduTours

We believe that every young person should experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of learning and personal development, whatever their age, ability or circumstances

EduTours offers non-commercial Outdoor Learning opportunities for your school through:
l Orientation Day-Tours
l Nature & Adventure Camps

These, often the most memorable learning experiences, help us to make sense of the world around us by making links between feelings and learning. They stay with us into adulthood and affect our behaviour, lifestyle and work. They influence our values and the decisions we make. They allow us to transfer learning experienced outside to the classroom and vice versa.

Education is not something to keep in a box, even when the box is classroom-shaped. The habit of learning, an urge to find out more, is developed when we feel inspired. The world outside the school is richly inspiring, constantly re-energising what takes place within the classroom. It is the source of all our learning – about our history, about our culture, about our place in the natural world and our relationships with each other. This two-way flow can be embedded in every child's education, entirely at ease within any school's ethos.

EduTours aims to promote experiential learning for school children through outdoor-learning by facilitating fun-learning through visit to real-world sites. Such sites are carefully identified and selected for their intrinsic value to learning. The Natural world predominates and acts as a crucible for brushes with cultural history, local resources, local inhabitants, their livelihoods and lifestyle in addition to endemic flora and fauna.

EduTours mission is to reach out to a rural and urban schools and provide an opportunity to participate in non-commercial Tours for outdoor learning. EduTours is a unit of and promoted by the EDR Foundation.

The EDR Foundation was established in 2000 and is also actively engaged in mobilizing funds for supporting work in the areas of Social Care, Rural Poor, Healthcare and Education. Funds are used to support activities such as those of the HelpAge India- Vishokanand Society (free food & clothes, medicines, physiotherapy), Old Age Homes (free recreation & pilgrimage tours for residents, healthcare), GRTC Rehabilitation Centre (stroke, paralysis and spinal injury) and other social care projects.
